BSL Lions
Physical education plays a critical role in educating the whole student. Research confirms that students who are physically active perform better in school. The healthy physically active student will miss fewer classes, be more alert, are more motivated, and attain higher test scores.

BSL Lions are the sport teams of BSL. Sport and physical fitness are a vital part of our curriculum both in taught PE lessons and as part of our enrichment activities programme. Physical education classes at BSL explore a variety of individual and team activities allowing students to discover a sport that suits their lifestyle. Our goal is to empower students to be active for life to foster a healthy lifestyle.
Students play a variety of sports at BSL including football, basketball, volleyball, hockey, swimming and table tennis. A number of active after school activities are also offered including martial arts and fencing.

Regular sports fixtures take place at weekends with BSL fielding football, basketball and swimming teams. BSL also hosts an annual sports tournament where schools from Togo, Ghana and Nigeria are invited.

House Events

All students are allocated a house team when they arrive in the school. Our two houses are named after African cats; the Cheetahs and the Caracals, well known for their indomitable will, speed, grace and strength. Competitive activities between the houses are arranged throughout the year including sports competitions and other activities. Students can also earn points for their house over the year with academic merits. The house shield is awarded to the house with the most points at the end of the school year.
